Throwback Thursday: Our wedding!

The bridal shower this past weekend had me thinking a lot about my own wedding, and how I can’t believe Stu and I have been married for over a year now!

I will get into our proposal story on another day, but from the day Stu proposed to me, I knew where and when I wanted to get married. I wanted cool weather and a barn. Don’t ask me why but I always dreamed of getting married in a barn. A couple of months after the engagement we went and booked our venue at the most beautiful place I could find!

Stu proposed on December 23rd of 2010. About 6 months later I found out I was pregnant. Even though it was a total surprise, we continued on and everything went as previously planned (other than my dress had to be altered) and we were married on November 26, 2011. Besides Levi being born and Stu returning home from Iraq, it was the best day of my life. Did I plan on getting pregnant before the wedding? No. But I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Our wedding ended up being exactly how I had planned it, minus the being preggo and no drinking (; My main thing was, I wanted this wedding to portray Stu and I, and who we are. And I am pretty sure any person who attended would agree that it was. The music at the ceremony was all Led Zeppelin songs (Yes, I walked down the isle to Thank You by Led Zeppelin and it was beautiful!), I wore cowboy boots, was surrounded by all of our best friends and family AND it was in the barn I always dreamed of.

The morning after, we boarded a plane and were off to Jamaica. And I cried every day because I missed Axell. I’m not joking.

Have a great day!
